O’Reilly Automatic Transmission Fluids provide protection against wear and transmission shudder; resistance to thickening due to high temperatures; and friction stability to maintain smooth and consistent shift performance. Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is considered the lifeblood of automatic transmission. It is used to transfer power in the torque converter and provide the pressure to apply the transmission’s various clutches and bands. It also is used to clean, lubricate, and cool the components of the transmission. In response to marketplace demands and evolving vehicle technology, Chrysler Group LLC established a licensing program for its advanced Synthetic Transmission Fluid, ATF+4(R) in 2005. This program allows ATF+4(R) to be made available at retail outlets and through independent repair facilities for Chrysler(R), Jeep(R), and Dodge(R) vehicle automatic transmissions. O’Reilly ATF+4(R) is a high-performance, synthetic fluid that provides a significant reduction in component wear, superior temperature performance, consistent shift quality, and exceptional friction modifying properties for automatic transmissions in Chrysler(R), Jeep(R), and Dodge(R) vehicles. The durability of ATF+4(R) has been successfully proven through more than one million miles of testing in severe environments and an extensive validation process. O’Reilly ATF+4(R) is approved for use in older transmissions and is currently the specification utilized in newer Chrysler(R), Jeep(R), and Dodge(R) vehicles. The previous MOPAR ATF+3(R) formulation was discontinued in 2005 and ATF+4(R) is recommended for all transmissions filled MOPAR ATF+3(R). ATF+4(R) is a registered trademark exclusive to Chrysler Group LLC.
